Hi Jerome.. that's mighty nice of you to offer that :D I'll give you a shout early in the New Year... too much going on before the big man in the red suit shows up! I'll dig out a couple of the better ones I have gotten this year. Gord

    Waterfowl Photography..

Thanks for the 411(y) I was down in Port Dover briefly this morning and saw a couple of odd looking birds. When I have some extra dough ray me I will make the trek down there. :)

    Waterfowl Photography..

Hey guys, been reading about some of the different birds you have been encountering so far. I've been shooting birds all year ( with a camera lol) and was wondering if any of these birds can be seen from shore? Or do you pretty well need a boat ( of which I do not have) Thanks!

fish batter like to try new stuff

I just use pancake batter.. the kind you just add water to. I'll add a bit of garlic powder to it then substitute the water for Labatt's Genuine Draft or Guiness Stout Dark Ale.

guy kills a musky and throws it back

Wow.. this guy's argument that musky are "shit fish" is totally groundless. I have never caught a musky and if I did, for me it would be the holy grail! I've been on the planet 46 years now and well there is no shortage of panfish etc in the Great Lakes. Perhaps the OP can forward this video to...

onshore perchin July 24/014 added pics

Forget about Dover or Normandale for getting some action from shore, don't know what's going on elsewhere on Erie from shore but anywhere in the Niagara area is a good bet, and so is Sarnia. Go get em!

off subject---weather forecasts good call bad call

My motto is yes keep the projected weather forecast in mind and never make the final decision until the morning of your trip and then check with Intellicast. com to look at the radar and see if the area you are planning to fish is actually going to be impacted. Just looked at it a few minutes...

On shore perchin----two reports? in one

Sounds like it was a case of " you shoulda been here yesterday" Yeah I got my fair share of throwbacks and seagull food.. but I came home with 10 decent yellows and equally as decent white perch and a bonus slab silver bass :censored:

    Hamilton Harbour bass?

Not too many Smallmouth in the Harbour.. more likely to get largemouth and if you are lucky you will hit schools of yellow and white perch.

    June 7th Onshore Perchin'

Greetings all! Been awhile since I have darkened the door here :) Anyhoo.. last weekend I headed east and connected with some perch soooo this weekend I decided to head west and try my luck at another spot I know of. Salted minnows were the ticket.. took about 15 min before I found them...

    Lack of River Rat Reports

Allo all! Been awhile since I have been here as I have had to deal with some serious health issues and I am still dealing with them. Anyway I had to offer my 1.2 cents worth  regarding the comment that was made regarding how tight lipped us river rats are. Perhaps my assumptions and...

    Smallmouth June 23

There were a bunch of guys in the middle of the Grand when I showed up. Me I was sitting on a rock lol.. Had 1-2 people on either side of me. Wasn't too long before they all packed up and left. If I didn't have to work this afternoon and if it wasn't going to be damn near 40C humidex today...

    Smallmouth June 23

I didn't get out on the opener for various reasons, but I sure made up for it this morning! Decided I would get a couple of hours in before it got stifling hot. Salted minnows were on the menu and the bass gobbled em up like no tomorrow. :D Caught and released I don't know how many but I...

Dropshotting, new science or just remarketed still fishing?

Well I don't know about "dropshotting" being a new science but I can guarantee you you don't need to go out and buy special rods weights etc. Until recently I was using pickerel rigs to catch perch from shore, anyone who has tried to unravel one quickly from a package and attach snelled hooks...

    Perchin June 05/2013

    Newbie Needs a helping hand.

Good choice on the 40ft boat.. more than adequate for the winds that usually kick up on Lake Erie, I was down at Dover last Saturday off the pier, the harbour and channel were chocolate milk and the muddy water extended out into the lake for some distance. What are you aiming for? If it's...

    Normandale shoal

I agree with Red.. about 25 years ago when my Grandpa was still around we were talking on the phone about fishing as we sometimes did and he mentioned to me about eating catfish, he swore up and down they were delicious. Of course being a young whippersnapper at the time I just said " uh am er...

    Normandale shoal

Don't be so quick to turn your nose up at the rock bass there. If I had some sort of anything that floats I'd be there in a heart beat! Some of the rock bass from that spot can be monsters. The larger ones are worthy opponents almost on the same level as smallies. Plus there is nothing like a...
