Fishing Report Port Ryerse went for rainbow ended up with this baby.

They haven't stocked Salmon on the Canadian side in over 20 years... Nice to see a few of the wild strain still kicking...
 
The 300 plus fish I saw yesterday were all darkened up and doing what comes naturally.
 
I believe the Lake Ontario salmon are dark by now the start of October I would think the few Erie salmon would be the same.
Good to see a Erie wild salmon.

This is why I still have the roof racks for my kayak on the car. I hope to get down there on a calm day soon. TC

Chinook? Sturgeon? Nessy?


Was there ever a time when catching chinook on Erie was a regular occurrence or have they always been scarce?
 
Pennsylvania stocked a fair number for quite a few years. It was actually determined that the run we had on the Thames back in the day was made up mostly of fish originating in Pennsylvania
