Definitely @Jumbojim and we saw the start of some of that by seeing many pressure cracks on our way out and on our way in from the Old Cut!! It will be interesting to see if it will all freeze up again,with this “extreme” cold weather coming for most of next week!! Here’s hoping so that us & many others can go back out on the ice again to fish for perch.
@Huron I remember you asking recently @Extra Virgin and myself @Red Hering for some photo’s I believe of ice hut’s from some of the local ice hut operators at St.Williams,just like I posted of ice hut’s to you in the past year’s.Personally,I haven’t ice fished off St.Williams yet this year to take any photo’s there,but here are some photo’s from Jimmy Riggins ice hut’s that he pulled back to shore from the inner bay late yesterday afternoon,(because of the strong winds being forecasted later that night),while @Jumbojim and myself were heading off the ice towards the Old Cut around 5 p.m. I hope that this helps you for now,and if the ice freezes up the inner bay again,(because it opened up today from the strong winds),I will then go ice fishing again,and take some more photo’s,safe ice permitting,of course!!

and I think @Jumbojim & myself @Red Hering know which rental hut you were in. Jimmy Riggins told us the spot late in the day last Thursday,were the perch fishing out of one of his ice hut’s had a “Hot” perch bite that day,as we were set to pack it in & head back towards the Old Cut. It’s great that you did well & that you enjoyed a nice feed of perch last Thursday!! Here’s hoping that the inner bay will freeze up again for some more ice fishing & the perch will be waiting and also very hungry!!
