Slow but steady bite today , most fish were a good size , kept 27 
Fishing Report Old cut today

Congratulations @Yakfisherman you must of arrived there early off the Old Cut today and spent most of the day out on the ice to catch those 27 keeper perch. I say this only because,@Jumbojim & myself started fishing around 1 p.m. this afternoon,(too late?),& struggled to catch just a few questionable keepers which we ended up releasing. A lot of anglers weren’t having too much luck either that stayed all day,but it was still a great day for us to be fishing off the Old Cut on long point bay!! Enjoy your perch fry!!

Nice catch @Yakfisherman. I’m hoping to get out soon and I’m new to ice fishing on the bay. How far a walk is it from old cut to decent fishing?

I couldn’t agree more, the wind is howling across the bay this morning. There was lots of pressure cracks on the south side yesterday. Have to reassess the ice on the bay because the next couple days of high wind.
Definitely @Jumbojim plenty of pressure crack’s out there yesterday while we were on our way out and on our way back in from ice fishing. The first photo of the pressure crack looked like it was not as wide in the morning,
then it was in the afternoon,
on our way back in around 5 p.m. Both of our spud bars 
had no problem breaking through the ice there!! There were plenty of other pressure crack’s,(more photo’s),out there!! 
Be Safe everyone,if for some reason you need to go out ice fishing on these conditions right now!! I will personally wait till the much colder temperatures are coming through next week,before I will go back out onto long point bay for some more ice fishing!!

The wind is blowing hard here today , but the ice is in nice shape, I have no worries the ice will survive this wind ,lots of people get worried about ice conditions when the weather network calls for plus temperatures, but that is the day time high and really the temperatures only goes above 0 for a few hours the rest of the time we are making ice we did fish all day like 8 until 4 the bite was slow but steady with some action every half hour or 45 minutes, the water is still murky now we’dith this wind again it’ll be a while before it clears up , we fished straight towards ec10 furthest hut out , I’m not suggesting anyone head out there today thought very little snow and high wind it would be near impossible to head in against that wind ... be safe

The ice in st. Willy’s is still holding on but a big portion of the bay of the bay is open

Thanks for sharing those photo’s @Yakfisherman !! It definitely did not take long to open up again!! It’s a bit scary knowing that myself and @Jumbojim & many others were on that ice fishing yesterday,& now there is open water again!! Hopefully everyone got their ice hut’s off in time!!
