I have found Danforth anchors (that style anyway) to be the best around LPB with it's sandy/silty bottom - expect Pt. Bruce is similar.

No other changes required although I may have upgraded the wires before the change - don't recall. I also made the change on a 350 Chevy in a '71 corvette. I did not experience the issues Leaky describes above - perhaps the year matters. My OMC was a 1991.

Has anyone taken a larger boat (24 ft +) out of the channel that services Teal, Pickerel, Willow, and Poplar Streets at Long Point? I was down last weekend and didn't seem like the water had come up much in the last week so didn't want to risk it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am on the north side of long point and would like to head around the point and over to Burwell when we get a calm day. Wondering if the channell is navigable (I have a 26ft Doral but can get thru if 2 ft of water) and also if gas is readily available. Thanks for the help guys.
