Route to Bluffs Bar

Just curious if it's possible/safe to cut between the little island at pottahawk point and goto bluffs bar that route instead of using the main channel. I have a small tinner and the ride through the channel is typically a rough one, even on the calmer days. The little area in red is the one I'm most worried about. To the west of the island I can fish easily but it looks like the water level to the east (right in front of the point) is pretty shallow. Any insight would be great! Thanks in advance.Bluffs Bar Route.png

Oh I forgot to mention the area in blue was about 2+ feet last time and wasn't a problem to get through. And yes I am a bit bored at work this morning, LOL.

Im not sure between the island, but i have cut across close to it, on the other side no problem in my 16ft Lund. Just go nice & slow, you'll be fine.

PS; I am also bored at work........good thing Im not a porn star!

No don't go between the island. We pulled through there with my bow mount troller last weekend but it is only about 1-1.5 ft deep on the east side the bar. Depending on your boat some can make it across outside the island where the S is on the map. The safest is the channel.

There is a channel south of the main channel but not officially marked. On your map it's near the dotted line approx 1km north of Pottohawk point. If you don't have a GPS with that spot marked, you can follow other boats across or when my GPS was in the shop I was able to slowly approach the bar and move along it until I found that spot. This is a much quicker route than the main channell.

We ran across the bar on Pottahawk pissup weekend with no problem, we was about 150 yds from land. Other much bigger boats was crossing in closer.

I have a 26 foot pontoon. I can get through the gap in the islands. I did it last week. Just need to keep motor up, it is 1.5 feet on the east side. I could get through slowly with no issues.

Princecraft 178 with a 115 I go threw there last weekend 1.5 2 feet water there and it's only short like 50 feet or so that's shallow
