I keep the cleats on all winter long, but with this wind I'm sure glad I'm with someone that has a machine to bring us in!Thanks for the report @Extra Virgin . Are those cleats I see? If so, good call!
Thanks @Extra Virgin for the first ice fishing report so far for today. I was wondering on how the ice fishing was doing today, while I am sorting out some more of my ice fishing tackle today, and anticipating another ice fishing trip out on long point bay next week. My leftover minnow’s (photo) from my last ice fishing trip,(Monday,February 21/22 ),have been on my aerator, and are anxious to catch some perch & pike’s for me!! lol It’s good to see that the ice looks great still & there are still a lot of ice hut’s out there enjoying the sport of ice fishing today according to your video . Please leave some perch & pike’s for us retire’s such as myself, that like to go ice fishing during the week!! lol More tight lines to you for the rest of the afternoon. The day started out well with the perch bite and wind, but now mid afternoon you don't need a prostitute to get blown now
WOW!! that ice looks very “Slick!!” & Screw the cleat’s!! I am bringing my skates!! lolI keep the cleats on all winter long, but with this wind I'm sure glad I'm with someone that has a machine to bring us in!
Sent @Gator Hunter to play fetch in this wind... Anyone missing a yellow national geographic bag?
I have never had much luck keeping minnows I change the water and also have a airator what do you feed them ?Thanks @Extra Virgin for the first ice fishing report so far for today. Good eye, it's the larger sized walleye talker i was using today since the water was stained I needed some sound to bring em inThanks for the report. I see the pike like a Perch Talker also, or is that a Walleye Talker? TC
I never feed them, I'm on well water so it's safe to just change the water daily and keep them cold in my garage with an el cheepo Walmart bubblerI have never had much luck keeping minnows I change the water and also have a airator what do you feed them ?
That it sure was! Almost makes me want to put some chains on the atv tires! It definitely was one hell of a windy walk back until our chauffeur @Gator Hunter picked us up!
@Fowlplaybuck I was told by Richard from @Collins Harbour where I bought the minnow’s from last Monday,February 21/22,(family day), to never feed the minnow’s. I am using rain barrel water that I had collected into 5 gallon pail’s. Never use tap water, because the chlorine will kill the minnow’s. I use a electric aerator & occasionally I put snow in my laundry tap where the minnow’s are in,to keep the water on the cool side. Hopefully this will help you & good luck!!I have never had much luck keeping minnows I change the water and also have a airator what do you feed them ?
Thanks for your suggestion and I forgot @Outdorman I remember using that liquid back in my “younger” year’s,when I had tropical fish in my aquarium’s to remove the chlorine from the tap water. I hope to be using the minnow’s this week that I have left for some more ice fishing somewhere, wherever the ice is the safest.you can buy a liquid at the Pet store that you put a few drops in and it removes the chlorine from the water in aquarium fish. Did it for years with no issues.

lol and WOW!! @hvyhaul six inches is “huge” for that tropical fish!! The leftover scoop of minnow’s that I had from a day of ice fishing on Fanshawe Lake back on January 31/22 that I bought here in London at a local tackle store, ended up at our daughters place. She has a tropical fish,(Oscar),around 5 inches long!! Needless to say,her Oscar loved those minnow’s a few at a time.Oh gawd! Tropical fish tanks! The horrors!
I had multiple tanks including breeders for years, foolishly bought a very small Cichlid I think they called a Jack Dempsey for $0.25. That SOB ate everything in the tank and ended up almost 6 inches in length before I finally decided to put it out of my misery.
i keep them in original water from seller in a little oscar cooler in my garage.i put a couple handfulls of snow in cooler each day.have kept them for a couple of weeks at a time.just don't forget the daily snow.you might have to scoop water out once or twice.I have never had much luck keeping minnows I change the water and also have a airator what do you feed them ?
