Port Bruce pier May 09/011

Fished the pier for a couple hours this morning---what a beautiful day it was. Lake was flat for awhile then breeze picked up. Not many people out----only two at the end of the pier, small group inside the channel.

Minnows were hard to find----everything else even harder.


Saw ONE perch caught just before I left, also a lady foul hooked what had to be the mother of all Lake Erie carp not once but twice.

Guestimated weight to be pushing 30#

thanks for the report was wondering if anyones was doing any fishing out of bruce , wonder if it would be worth taken the boat out and giver a try.............apps

Hey apps----news from another board from last Sunday says perch were found west of pier in 51 fow---caught 38 and if you're into silver bass 28-32 fow west again was a hot area

Hey packrat - thanks for the info - would you mind sharing that other board's name ? I love this board and the info shared here - but I'm always looking for sources of new & utd info on the area . thx.

hey packrat that was the wife and i on the end, one nice perch ,the carp was huge.to big for my landing net.

I was the guy out in the jon boat with a buddy looking for cats......lots of bait out along the bluffs in 6-8' of water. There was also lots of bait on the far side of the channel opposite the pier where the steel wall meets the rocks. Water in the creek was 56f and the shoreline of the lake was 48f......

Was down at Port Bruce today...not to many fishing on the peir but took about 5 passes with the net and had about 2 dozen minnows...
