Fishing Report Numbers aren't everything

Fished Saturday am for bass and Sunday am for perch only managed 8 bass and 17 perch. But really I couldn't be happier or more proud! Saturday morning was the first opening day for my 5 year old son and what a great memory. 4am he was up and ready to go fishing with his dad and grandpa. We were at the launch at 4:45am and on our way shortly after. My son got to experience his first sun rise on the water and even though we only caught 8 smallmouth, Ethan managed to hook and land 3 bass by himself along with about a dozen sunfish. What a great bass opener and an extremely happy little boy. (Photos also by Ethan)

Excellent photo’s and some good looking smallmouth bass there!! @vweric Congratulations to Ethan as well for experiencing his first sunrise and hooking and landing 3 fish by himself!! He is now “Hooked for Life!!” lol
