At 7 pm last night at 60 ft there where some 6 footers anything but calm. Wind came up about 6.30 straight out of the nww. Short chop is deadly.

I was out last night too, you are right it was a nice ride out there and then that wind kicked up out of no where and she was rough.

I did read on some other site last night someone saw flares go off.

I was out of port gloasgow yesterday afyernoon and we were in 69 FOW. It was getting quite rough out ther too. At least 2 to 3 footers

Search and rescue underway for boater missing in Port Burwell

A search and rescue operation is underway for a boater who went missing on Lake Erie off the coast of Port Burwell on Tuesday.

According to Fire Chief Harry Baranik, the boat was reported overdue at 10:30 p.m. due to fire approximately one to two kilometres from shore.

that explains all the helicopters today that went over Pt Bruce.

We saw a helicopters just west and over the lighthouse at LP today flying low. I don’t know anything about these things but seems surprising the search area is so large. I would have thought wind and wave data and algorithms would narrow down a search area pretty tight. Certainly hope my brother angler is safe and well when he is found.

With the direction of the waves and the length of time hes been missing, the boat could have traveled a long way.

The Hercules just flew over the north shore of the inner bay . Hope they find him safe
