Beautiful day out here, two salmon in the box so far. Both caught around 60 feet on the cheater. Michigan stinger copper back spoon. Hopefully more to come with pictures!
Great report @vmuravin and it’s good to know that you made it out there, and that I was of some kind of help to you,(by pm), on the information on how to fish the Kettle Point area, and to also be extremely cautious by the many fast approaching “Rock” shoals everywhere,if someone didn’t know the area & Tight lines!!Super! I am hoping to get there tomorrow or Friday. We were there the other day... Started at Kettle Point from R&R (was a mistake probably, water 49F) then packed our stuff and went towards Franks (water 52F), ended up 4/11, 2 lakers and 2 small salmons, nothing on riggers, all sliders and a laker on 7-color. Had to cut the trip short though due time limit but it was a beautiful day, I love being on the other side off Pinery...
Excellent report @crappiequeen and were you fishing with @Mickey Finn and if so,how did he make out fishing? I have not heard from him for a while. I and likely other’s are looking forward to your photo’s & tight lines to you/both the rest of the day.Beautiful day out here, two salmon in the box so far. Both caught around 60 feet on the cheater. The ramp was ok, the gentlemen who was there was angry since we came early but then he became a little less angry since we took off so quietly that nobody in the whole reservation woke up@vmuravin how was the boat ramp at R&R,such as deep enough & how much is it to launch a boat there?? Pink Panties and Blueberry muffin each caught one.@crappiequeen if I may ask, what spoons/colors worked besides that copper one? thank you
Thanks & a good tip @crappiequeen I will need to bring some smaller spoons such as the mini streaks in the Pink Panties and Blueberry muffin.Fish finder clocked us as 2.7 - 3.0 mph. We found the smaller spoons worked better also.
