Fishing Report Lake Ontario

Fish look good, water looks fairly calm and weather predictions are for a good day. Continued good fortune.

Nicely done Ticker. Lake Ontario is on fire this year. Hope you get a 30 lbs. Take lures you using.

Well home now , first hour and a half fishing was hot with Chinooks smashing everything I put down
We had a double and a triple on absolute chaos with the triple only got one in the boat as the other two decided to say hi to each other and cutting across lines
Riggers worked the best 35'-60' down ,sliders did better than main spoon
Got them on
Spindoctor/ fly combo on dipsy 115 ' back
Spindoctor/ whole anchovy with translucent chartreuse head on dipsy 135' back
11" padle with herring strip on rigger 40 ' down
Various spoons on riggers , not one color that I would say was better than others
So we should of had over 2 dozen fish in the boat but only able to get 12 to be kind to pose for quick picture
" if they were worthy of it , some were not "
After the early morning smashfest the bite slowed considerably and the aggressive hits as well
Was a weird wave today , rollers from the East I mean some biggens but a 2 foot chop from the west on top ,

I feel your pain , well till this morning lolWhat a great fishing ticker, I am stuck at work at the lab the whole week until almost midnight! Almost 2 weeks without fishing starts getting into me
I have not been out for 2 weeks , it hurts

Hey @Centerspin best was 100-120 fow
Only went to 150 fow no marks on the screen at all
So did not go further out
East of Oakville

I believe its a browntrout , they get super silver color in the lake ,

Nice thank you Ticker, We see it from far away, usually go west from LFP.
According to this it could be a(unicorn) Atlantic : Jaw extends pas middle of an eye and no spots on adipose fin:

Hey fantastic fishing @Ticker those kings are a blast aren't they. That one fish looks like an Atlantic to me also, what a gorgeous fish. Thanks for posting such great photos. I haven't fished Lake Ontario in about 6 years so your photos bring back wonderful memories of tussling with those rocket kings. Whatever you do don't ever drop one of those tanks on top of all those tackle boxes or you will be picking lures off the CN Tower.

100% Atlantic....looks like one of the brood stock fish they dumped in the credit last year. The worn off dorsal and somewhat deformed pectoral and ventral fins are a good indication that fish spent a fair bit of time in the hatchery.
