Giant River Carp

[Fish em All]

Caught a monster 23 lb carp fishing with an ultra light 5 ft rod, 8 lb braided line and a lively dew worm on a simple split shot rig. What a battle!!!! After catching this monster on ultra light gear you can appreciate why these fish are prized in Europe. The fish took me up and downstream through rocks and timber, thought I lost it twice. Also caught a few redhorse suckers and noticed that most of the fish are already starting to spawn in the shallows.

Thanks everybody!! We have caught a few nice cats fishing near and around the river mouths, thinking this warm weather and some rain will fire them up. Hoping to get out soon to try.
