Thank you to everyone that helped put on the derby today. Thank you @racattack! We had great weather and that was a nice surprise. Here's a pic of "Frank the neighbor guy" holding our #8 place prize fish(7.26 lbs). We won the Wackm tackle spoon pack! Included was stomps tighty whities #1 , the Captain @Richardscott999 will be holding onto stomps briefs for future endeavors. Thank you @Wackm Tackle can't wait to try your spoons out on the next trip. Great to put a few faces to some names today. We really enjoyed "The Docks" everyone was so awesome and very helpful. "Frank the neighbor guy" won the raffle as well, and gifted the captain his prize, a 2022 seasons launch pass at "The Docks". Looking forward to many great trips in 2022 from Port Bruce. Ben

Really? I landed 6 walleye (just none of size), 3 sheephead....and lost another 4 in the fight. How many did YOU land? In my estimation, that's a good day. That said, head to head Wildfire, anytime you want.

Hats off to you @King Joe! Paddling out against those rollers and eating boat wake did not look like fun. Awesome catch , especially from a 'yak.

Yeah the beach launch and heading out against the waves and rollers was challenge...add in that right off the start, 3 boats with a big white one leading...figured they'd buzz us heading out but cutting close (within 40m) on either side of us. Who knew open water and 'still' a confined boating channel. Kind of used to that boat behaviour now, sadly. It did get nice out there with the calming winds and waves.

Regardless, I had hoped to actually meet more folks including you at the weigh in....talked to a few, no idea whom though as apparently, nobody says their names when you talk to them...hah. AND, bonus....Stomp 68 stickers in the gift bag! Will finally be sporting one on the Yak.

Hey @King Joe, Sorry that I missed talking with you yesterday. I know we have only ever met that once in open water while you were fishing in your yak. Out in the big water of Erie you stick out like a sore thumb! Still I'm surprised I didn't recognize you looking around yesterday, lots of people I guess.

Yeah lots of little walleye yesterday. We only had the 1 good one. Most of the rest were released to get bigger. Saved a few for dinner with the family tonight. Sounds like you had a good morning of fishing as well.

My kayak will also be getting a 6-8 upgrade. Hopefully it will help me land a few more fish this season! Ben

@bosc , I think the smallest walleye should win. Seriously though, I don't think heaviest 3 fish would be 'more fair' , just different. The only thing I found unfair this year is that our boat didn't finish in the money.

I found it a little unfair that a derby in a forum about long point actually wasn't in long point.

Oh well, c'est la vie.
