Hello everyone,

Decided to make our first trip down to Burwell early this morning. Headed straight out to 56fow and dropped lines there. Didn't take long, first fish was a nice rainbow followed up by 2 more before we had our first eye of the year. It was pretty steady after that with almost an equal amount of bows and eyes. We trolled to 65 with the best fishing between 60-63 fow. Then we turned and took the same path in. We had a 2 double headers and 1 triple. With some very large aggressive steelhead with a mixed bag of 2-6lbs eye. We fished til 1230 or so. It did get tougher as the day went on. Tally for the day was 14/15 on rainbows. Which I was surprised because usually we land just over 1/2. We were 2 eyes short of a 3 man but lost a couple at the boat.

Things are looking very good this year.

3-6 colour leads off inlines were best. With 3s and 4s being quite hot early on.

As for braided divers. 100-115 on a #3 setting was best. Tooka few at 50-60 on a #1 as well.

As for lures redfins we're studs on the cores with emerald, huey dewy and wackmbread being best.

3.25 spoons were good as well. Pink panties, anti garcia, and wackmbread doing the most damage.

All and all an awesome day. Will post some pics soon.
