It's personal preference... It doesn't ignite the board this way... Just gentle smoke and cedar flavor...

When u do your ribs, do you use the 3 2 1 method? Buddy at work suggested 2 hrs smoke then final 2 hrs covered and smoked. New to the traeger game...trying ribs for the first time Sunday. Any recommendations would be great.Man after my own heart @jammer , ribs for The Wife and I tonight, brisket for the family tomorrow.

Today I didn't have time to set the glaze (final number) as The Wife was watching grandkids tonight.
These were sides, not my fav, so it was 2 1/2 hrs open, almost 2 hrs wrapped and then we ate.
Getting the outside tacky(sticky) would have made them better than the simply tender and juicy as they were.
I prefer backs,. more meat and they cook a little quicker. More like 2 2 1.

I buy mine at superstore in Simcoe... I have made my own from lumber yard... Cedar fence board... And cut to size... Make sure it's untreated and not dyed...
