Season

No need to shut it down, just follow the fish. Good fishing in the Central Basin till the end of September pending weather. The issue later in, the season is finding good conditions to get out. As long as the Lake is ice free the west end will, produce fish all winter.

The key is getting out, but sometimes my marriage has more temperament than the weather after a season of ice fishing and trolling.

Couple months off early if could mean a bigger boat without those hefty divorce bills lol

Usually sept sucks for winds and especially rain but you trout guys live for that stuff right?
Are you even married bro??

Actually don’t even answer that I don’t want to know either way 🤣

Just clowning everyone should get out as much as possible all the time, you never know how many times we get to go around the sun.

Beer may have influenced this post but I mean every single word.

Tell me about it! I found a bag of perch and a bag of pike in my freezer labeled "Feb 14/21 LPB" 🤷‍♂️
@Extra Virgin were your perch & pike caught off St.Williams
back in February 14/21 by any chance? 🤔 and thanks in advance lol 😂 😉 I will need to check in my freezer as well. 😌 Enjoy your fish fry. 🐟🐟🐟😋👍🙂

So hoping Nanticoke turns on with some decent weather and fish to close the season. So close and yet so far away….

I find each season is a little different, and its a matter of being able to get out there when the switch turns on for that 2 - 3 week period, as well as finding what they want on any given day / outing / season. I also thought the migrants arrived a couple weeks later than in previous years? - but maybe that was just me not finding the pods right away. Hopefully they hang around for the same length of time as in previous years, close to the end of September.

The weather forecast issues are way worse in September/October. Which I think is why people just go and do other things.

I do wonder about the water colour changing either from differently timed rain, higher water levels, air temps, wind, etc. This year would be different again because Lake Superior-Michigan-Huron water level dropped a lot but Erie only a little. Superior the most — St Mary’s rapids in the Soo has been pretty dry from what I hear. But the flow from Huron would for sure be different this year. The current in the lake would be effected.

I had a few years off but I have not seen huge perch in the Port Dover marina before. Never mind into July. You could see them from the dock. The patterns are different for sure. Spoons and higher speed? My dad might be right about j-plugs. He keeps telling me to throw one of the many old ones we have down and see.

That's why I like outboards . No winterizing needed . Tag out early? fish the rest of the week . Nice day early December? Head out for trout off Goderich or Point abino for perch.. tilt down and we're good till next time.
