How many hits does a Redfin take?

Curious how many fish a ripplin Redfin can typically take? This is 4 eyes and a rainbow. Teeth marks I get but the paint chunk is annoying.

I have Rapalas with teeth marks all over them, live targets do ok too… but this seems to be loosing its paint quicker than others. It has its own safe spot in a box and has spent most of its life in the water.

Ya, the paint comes off too easy. Earlier this year, I also had a bow take off the last treble and escape.

I had a chrome/blue RRF lose all its paint on my canoe trip last September - it was the hot lure on the trip but it went from chrome/blue to straight albino (no paint).

good lure but there are workmanship issues with them

A lot of those marks on the rear are from the middle hook rubbing the body. I always remove the centre hook
X2. It's just another thing to get caught in the net and they can even hook up on the rear hook at times. Also if you 'T' the two hooks on the front treble so they are 90 degrees to the body, they dont rub on the sides of the Bait and wear the paint. Once I started doing that, the paint still looks good for a long time.

I’ve wondered if putting some Lacquer on them would help but for $10 a pop at lambeth I haven’t tried it.

Some of mine are missing almost half of the paint and they still catch just as many fish.

I have a 7" blue/silver rapala with the back half of the bait missing all of the wood. The back half of lure is just 2 wires and a treble dangling at the end. Still catches tons of pike even though it looks ridiculous.

I kept using my beat up blue & silver Ripplin Redfin still for quite some time, because it was still catching walleye’s & the odd rainbow’s. I don’t really know how many fish it caught over the year’s,but I retired my blue/silver RRF late last year, only because the plastic bill came off this lure while I was fishing. The walleye’s definitely loved this beat up lure, and here is a photo of a walleye almost swallowing the whole blue/silver RRF. 😉 I also do agree 💯% that the paint does come off way to easy & hopefully the manufacturer can resolve this problem!! 🚤🎣🐟👍🙂

Haven’t tried removing hooks — i find with my Rapalas it changes how they move when you even change the hooks. At least that is my excuse for my favourite one not working this year. Had a big laker bend two treble hooks and they had to be replaced.

Still didn’t expect it to go so quickly but it does still work.

They are ignoring my blue/silver and going for the gold. Also my jointed live target herring pattern.

The color only catches the fishermen the action catches the fish.

I can't say how many hits one can take but I have a bunch that I bought in the 90's that still catch fish. I do know that the custom ones from Wackm tackle stand up a heck of alot better than the stock paint job

The old ones I got from my grandpas tackle are in better shape than the ones I purchased last year lol
Says a lot

They take a beating but keep on producing, so milk them as long as they catch fish. Hard not to get beat up when they end up like this. Wackm Emerald in there somewhere.
