Off Topic Fish'n Canada has started a petition to ban fishing in Ontario.

You guys just never stop do you, groceries stores to dollar stores, Lib's vrs Conserv. Trump or Trudeau, somebody did this, why can't I? So wait for it?? Whiny little bitches, please rely on more than late night AM radio, Fox news, or CNN? And please don't quoat me back on who made mistakes or who was wrong, kinda think that this may happen during a F-ing Pandemic?
At a time when Grandparents, old folks home's are stacking bodies. Police and Nurses are dropping, Bus driver's and Grocery store clerk's, all public service and so many other's, are sleeping in their cars to protect their families. Risking their lives.
You can't go fishing, feel so bad for you butter-cup
And suddenly...all is quiet.

If it bothers you so much there are lots of other threads. Or just stop arguing with us and eventually we will all be fishing and you can post all you want about the ant hill in your backyard and how you good you feel for staying home with the herd.

It is the weirdest thing eh, a bunch of guys talking about going fishing, wanting to go fishing, why we should be able to go fishing on A FISHING FORUM..
If you don't want to or don't think you should go fishing then why are you anti fishing people even here? You all should go hang out on Fish'n Canada... they have a "chat room" and I know of at least one other person who agrees with you over there.

sheesh, kids these days.

I'm quiet because I'm not gonna argue all day about whether I should fish or not, I'll just keep doing it. Pretty pissed about the ramp situation but there's lots of other opportunities. Definitely not gonna share any reports or tips during this situation tho.....

Fishing is still allowed, there is no travel ban and I'll continue to do as I see fit. Even my 70yr old dad who's as afraid as anyone about this pandemic has been asking me to bring some fresh fish as he's afraid to go to the grocery store.

By all means, feel free to keep arguing! Lol! It's entertaining.

I will agree with Hawgseeker on this one. There are valid points being made in what was stated. I didn't believe it would have to come to the point of having the government order us to follow what was at first safety guidelines but are now serious offences but yet here we are ! I know there will much poo pooing and caterwauling following my next comment but our Prime Minister today clearly asked us as Canadians and I paraphrase "to hold the course and not give up all the good that we and our loved ones, frontline workers etc., etc. have suffered through so far in battling this pandemic" . I will also point out that the Mayors of Haldimand and Norfolk are asking visitors to stay home as usually they are out beating the tourism drum. They are asking cottagers and other secondary property owners to not go to their properties and yes they are aware you pay taxes on it but of course we all seen what happens when you "ask" people to follow guidelines next you are getting fined for not doing so.

So ? To use the excuse that "I have to put food on my table" is pretty lame {unless you live off the grid in the boonies ?} because the last time I was in Zhers they still had fish. Yes.... I know … it's not the same. If you can fish and respect the rules being asked of us then go ahead but should you catch a Covid 19 ? Bon appetit !

For the amount of time I’ve had to go out to any stores, people have practiced the social distancing.Nobody has been rude or careless in that regard.Ive haven’t been to any boat launches this year, but I would like to assume people would be practicing the same logic here as they would anywhere else.
To some who say quit your bitching about it,we aren’t bitching about it.We would like the same standard held for fishing as any other thing we do in today’s new world.I’m allowed to walk the trails by the Grand river but I’m not allowed to fish there. That makes no sense to me.

Agreed!

As far as the petition, Fish'n Canada can go f@&k themselves. I can count on both hands the names of men that would follow me where I'm going opener and truly enjoy it. The 1 hand holds the names of those I learned from and are now just names, pictures and memories. The other hand is those truly "driven" few that actually somewhat enjoy the sting of raspberry or wild rose thorns scraping across their face. It is the cost of entry into a world everyone drives past and pays little attention too.

I do understand the closing of hotspots for people gathering in numbers. Let's face it, common sense doesn't seem to have the same definition that it did when I was growing up. I've been fishing twice and scouting a half dozen times and guess what, 5 cars here, 7 here, 2 here. And we are no where near the concentration of people as a city is.

For the past month my family hasn't had take out. And I'm a McDonalds breakfast junky. Groceries is a stressful trip even in our town and only when necessary. We seek out independent local sources for food as much as possible. Less traffic, less chance of infection. I'm truly impressed with the precautions these small businesses are taking.

No one knows what the perfect answer is. All we can do is live the best we can and avoid dumb ass f&^$ers that don't give a shit about anyone but themselves. Unfortunately , the easier it is to congregate, the higher the density of dumb ass.

Here are the official Coronavirus guidelines:

1. Basically, you can't leave the house for any reason, but if you have to, then you can.

2. Masks are useless, but maybe you have to wear one, it can save you, it is useless, but maybe it is mandatory as well.

3. Stores are closed, except those that are open.

4. You should not go to hospitals unless you have to go there. Same applies to doctors, you should only go there in case of emergency, provided you are not too sick.

5. This virus is deadly but still not too scary, except that sometimes it actually leads to a global disaster.

6. Gloves won't help, but they can still help.

7. Everyone needs to stay HOME, but it's important to GO OUT.

8. There is no shortage of groceries in the supermarket, but there are many things missing when you go there in the evening, but not in the morning. Sometimes.

9. The virus has no effect on children except those it affects.

10. Animals are not affected, but there is still a cat that tested positive in Belgium in February when no one had been tested, plus a few tigers here and there…

11. You will have many symptoms when you are sick, but you can also get sick without symptoms, have symptoms without being sick, or be contagious without having symptoms. Oh, my..

12. In order not to get sick, you have to eat well and exercise, but eat whatever you have on hand and it's better not to go out, well, but no…

13. It's better to get some fresh air, but you get looked at very wrong when you get some fresh air, and most importantly, you don't go to parks or walk. But don’t sit down, except that you can do that now if you are old, but not for too long or if you are pregnant (but not too old).

14. You can't go to retirement homes, but you have to take care of the elderly and bring food and medication.

15. If you are sick, you can't go out, but you can go to the pharmacy.

16. You can get restaurant food delivered to the house, which may have been prepared by people who didn't wear masks or gloves. But you have to have your groceries decontaminated outside for 3 hours. Pizza too?

17. Every disturbing article or disturbing interview starts with "I don't want to trigger panic, but…"

18. You can't see your older mother or grandmother, but you can take a taxi and meet an older taxi driver.

19. You can walk around with a friend but not with your family if they don't live under the same roof.

20. You are safe if you maintain the appropriate social distance, but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at the safe social distance.

21. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours, no, four, no, six, no, we didn't say hours, maybe days? But it takes a damp environment. Oh no, not necessarily.

22. The virus stays in the air - well no, or yes, maybe, especially in a closed room, in one hour a sick person can infect ten, so if it falls, all our children were already infected at school before it was closed. But remember, if you stay at the recommended social distance, however in certain circumstances you should maintain a greater distance, which, studies show, the virus can travel further, maybe.

23. We count the number of deaths but we don't know how many people are infected as we have only tested so far those who were "almost dead" to find out if that's what they will die of…

24. We have no treatment, except that there may be one that apparently is not dangerous unless you take too much (which is the case with all medications).

25. We should stay locked up until the virus disappears, but it will only disappear if we achieve collective immunity, so when it circulates… but we must no longer be locked up for that?"
