Took a peek at the Windfinder app and seen some nasty weather coming on the 9th (60 gusting to 100 km/h) but on the 13th,14th and 15th things look very, very nasty ! It starts with high 70's gusting to 120 km/h then a constant high wind for 14th and 15th. This info I got from my laptop but on my smartphone it didn't show the wind speeds as high...wtf ? Anybody want to confirm these numbers ?

Saw that. Very strong South winds Sat. 13th + 8 Deg C. shifting to Westerly with temps dropping over night to - 7C. Maybe that wind will super cool the Bay and flash freeze if the wind stops.

That was Windfinder Long Point Light House. US Navy shows different. both are at end of their forecast models. This North America Navy site weather model.

My computer says it's not safe. Been using it for 25 years

The Weather Network predictions are similar to Windfinder. We are overdue for a bad storm and it looks like it starts with rain and switches over as temps drop. Time to "batten down the hatches" and check the generator ? Good thing the lake level is down so flooding shouldn't be an issue but there could be storm surge. I also noted the temperature drops to the minus's for daytime so a couple of calm days should freeze the Inner Bay over and the boys may get out to do some hardwater fishing soon.

This is water level forecast but only 3 days, Neat watch as one of these events unfolds. There can be 2 ft difference between Gravelly Bay and mouth of Big Creek (lower). With high water at Hastings and 12 ft waves washing into Big Creek Marsh should be a lot of water through the culverts at the causeway.

The latest on the storm-Published on Jan. 8, 2024.

A Texas low you'd expect in April, not January

Confidence is steadily increasing for Ontario's first major storm of 2024. Plan for travel impacts Tuesday and Wednesday. A swath of snow, widespread heavy rains, blustery winds, and even a risk for ice pellets and freezing rain will spread across the province as the low arrives in the region through Tuesday.
