What did you do this weekend?

Spent the weekend getting Erie Guardian ready for the season by finishing up installation of two high roller seats (lol), downriggers and our basket/bench seat to sit forward of the rear console over the engine compartment. I totally understand why people who weld, sew and fab charge what they do lol.

Sadly I still have the big girl to deal with for a full hull coating of antifouling and a full spectrum of service and preventative maintenance schedule. This weekend I installed new tracks on my boat and 3 dual axis rod holders per side and took the rod holder bases off the Scotty’s. Really like how it all turned out. Have to say the tracks being made from Custom Fishing Solutions’s are really nice tracks and if you get the ones with the channels in the side they will be coming out with some great accessories that can be used.

Installed a new Ulterra bow mount, updated and tidied up some old issues with the HDS units, and loaded all the safety gear. All ready for Detroit if the weather ever smartens up.

First year with the Ulterra? And definitely don't forget the safety gear with the minimal SAR coverage on the lakes this time of season and the water temps hovering around 2c you only have about 5 minutes before hypothermia sets in. Tight lines

I'm not going to bring this place down with specifics, but whatever you did on Saturday up to when The Wife and I got to hug our G kids at supper time, I can guarantee was better than we did.

Will be undressing the boat in the near future. :D 🌻

That looks great! Who did the metal fabrication work? I'm trying to find someone to make a few bends in some 2" aluminum tubing.

Just an upgrade from a terrova. We're well prepared for cold weather boating but like you say, you can't be too careful.

Drank beer and caught chubs 🍺🎣 no sheds found this trip and also filled a grocery bag full of trash

Myself, big difference is this is 1" aluminum bar and not tube. Sadly I'm not even sure who could bend 2" aluminum tubing since it needs to be mandrel drawn rather than a typical pipe bender. You could always reach out to a custom exhaust company and they may try. I do know the muffler man in st. Thomas does.

While I'd love to be able to say I started looking at my fishin stuff, I can't. I wish I could say different than I'm about too, but I can't. Sorry.

Friday was ok, Saturday not so bad, but Sunday, Sunday is the day that defined the weekend and it wasn't good.

I spent Sunday dealing with this

My son is the victim in that news story. He was stabbed twice in the back, once in the ribs, (left side) and has a deep gash in his left arm just below the elbow that has caused some serious damage that currently prevents him from being able to use his left hand and will require surgery to repair.(He's left handed BTW)

He'll be seen by a surgeon on Thursday morning to assess what needs to be done to repair the damage to his arm and hopefully allow him to recover fully with full use of his left hand.

Sad thing is, he knows the woman. They went to school together. Police have corroborated everything my son said happened including her giving him a hug before she set him up for this to happen. What did they get? His wallet, his phone and she had the balls to take his bloody sweater off him and then put it on herself after she kicked him while he was down after being stabbed. She was wearing the sweater when they arrested them (which thankfully wasn't long after they got the call to respond. They passed the two of them on the way to my son.) What did he have in his wallet that was worth doing this? $5. The only thing the police have yet to find is his wallet or any of his ID.

I went to see him today and helped him clean up his apt, and drove him around to get his health care and bank cards canceled then replaced. He'll replace his driver's license when he gets paid and can afford the fee to do that later this week.

I installed a lowrance fs7 matched with a drive pilot. My wife said it was cheaper than a divorce. They for some reason can’t steer the boat straight. 😂
Yes...but when the boat goes side to side and in a little half circle.....You have better fishing...:giggle:
