Drove all over the western basin Friday looking for walleyes,the Colchester Walleye Derby was on Sat.We ended up fishing from Leamington north shore,North Harbour Shoal,Hen Island and south of Pelee Island.Many,many miles travelled on Erie over the two days.On Friday pre fishing our biggest was 30.5 inches.
We ended up landing 31 eyes on Sat.The top ten walleye entered in the derby were all over 30inches this year,our biggest on derby day was 29.75 inches.We ended up being tied for 12th place.This was the first year that every fish in the top ten were over 30 inches since the start of this derby.
My crew on Sat.
Caught 98% of eyes on bottom bouncers.Tried inlines for a while but the B.B were catching fish like crazy so we benched the inlines.
