I haven't heard or seen a thing here yet... wtf ? The rain and fog hasn't helped. Maybe try afternoon hunts instead ?

First one was at 4 pm on a really windy day. No decoys but called loud and hard. He showed up within 10 min with two hens looking for the third. Second one was a morning hunt after it stormed all night. Birds were dying to get into the cut cornfield to dry off. I easily heard 40/50 gobbles that morning til finally .4 mature birds showed up looking for a mystery hen. I only use decoys mid to end of May. Mature birds strut and hang up or the Jakes come in looking for a free piece. By using no decoys the birds come looking. Once the hens are on the nest, I find the decoys work as the Tom’s are starting to get ignored so they are willing to come a little closer. 25 plus years of turkey hunting with 50 plus birds down. My method seems to work.

Nice birds! I’m mainly using my crossbow now. It’s very low key. Killed tommy opening morning. Passed a jake yesterday. Some good scenery from the deer. I like to stretch it out a bit. Depending how much fishing I do, I may not get out again until May long weekend!
