Sunday afternoon Port Burwell

Got into port around lunch time and wife called to inform us of tornado and storm warnings to the west. We pulled over to check our Storm app and sure enough stuff was brewing on land and also on water. We decided to find a parking spot downtown and enjoy a great lunch and beverage at one of the local establishments. Once the weather warnings cleared up and most of the boats got off the water we took the opportunity to start trolling South west out of port in about 52 fow. Didn’t take long to boat our first and by the time we hit 60’ we had double digits in the box. We made the turn back downwind to port and picked up our last 8 fish in under 9 minutes. 58-59 fow was best on the rods and the sonar screen was simply on fire. Riggers with sliders did the trick on short leads with the ball down 37-39 with greasy chicken and moonshine. Dipsy 110-120 back on 3 setting also worked with similar spoons. Clip on weights on boards with silver and gold ripplin also did some damage. All done and 3 man ticket punches in about 2hrs. All great eaters with a couple in the 3-5 lbs range. No pics as we were too busy fishing and paying attentions to the radar. Back home in woodstock area cleaning fish with a bevy by around 6:30. Nice way to end the weekend.

Cheers

Way to go ShortRod. We got out after the morning storms rolled through. Got our 3 man ticket in 52 -53 feet of water in about 2.5 hours. Lost about 5 at back of boat or would have been a quicker trip. Ran body baits all day in yellows greens and various other Reef Runner darker colours once sun went behind clouds .
