Grandson has come down with it again for the 9th time.

Two others have had it 8 times and 11 times.

I don't get it, when we were raising our herd if one of the kids got it our Dr prescribed meds and at the end of the meds we went back in for another swab. If positive, more drugs until all clear.

Medicine doesn't do that anymore so it's not surprising today's treatment is not very effective.

Both families are waiting months to see ENT specialists. 🤨☹️🌻

Resistant bacteria. We will eventually lose the war. Bugs have the upper hand...numbers and experience.

Hvyhaul my wife was a medical assistant for 25 years and I mentioned this to her and she said yes some people are just carriers and they will always test positive whether they are symptomatic or not

I'd send you a picture of the gk if I had permission. The little bugger is laid right out with a 103* fever...... again.

All three sufferers get really sick each episode.
They probably wish they were just carriers. 🌻

In my late teens I got it regularly, every couple of months. Early twenties I got my tonsules (sp?) pulled the that closed that bs for life.

My go to was I would warm a glass of 2% milk on the stove to the temperature of milk you would feed a baby. I always tested the temperature by dipping my baby finger in the warming milk and then to the underside of my other wrist.

What I found if I over warmed the milk by a few degrees (you'd have to let it cool just a bit to feed a baby) the effectiveness of the treatment was wasted. If I over heated I'd throw the batch out and start over.

I would have a glass before bed and another in the morning. Two three days later all better till next outbreak.

I can still remember not being able to open my mouth wide enough to get a spoon in it and jerking my head around so violently to swallow to where I thought my head was going to fall off.

It was a nasty to say the least, I feel for any person having to deal with it.

Just what Windy Point Said ! Guy at work had strep a million times and missed a million days work (Paid), and all he had to do was get his tonsils removed. Every kid had their tonsils removed when I was younger. Not sure why the doctors dont prescribe it any more.

My doctor was pretty old school in the 90’s and would not prescribe antibiotics unless completely necessary.

Lots of throat infections I got were treated with gargling warm salt water. I do not get sore throats anymore. Little more suffering though. Not sure about what is out there now though.

Sorry that the kids are going threw this and hope you get the answers you need in order to stop this.
