Please be advised we have received Many RSVP's so this will turn out to be a great event…. Due to supply I may not have Memory cards to supply everyone if you can please have as a backup a 4 or 8 Gig card… We lost one of the shipments that had the chips :(

Elite 4, 5, and 7 HDI and DSI

Turn Unit on
Pages----> Sonar
Every time you put your boat into the water and are heading out from the marina start your boat turn on your unit and….
Menu scroll down Log Sonar
Name file as you wish e.g. name of lake you are on … subsequent recording will automatically add a number after it
if your chip is inserted the start logging will be lit up and the unit will let you record
When you are recording in the sonar screen a small red dot is lit up
Please stop the record cycle every 1.5 - 2 hrs this will keep the files smaller and it will be easier to upload.

HDS 5, 7, 8, 10, 12 Gen one, Gen 2 with and without out insight

This little part you will only have to do one time
Turn Unit on
Pages- Chart--- Menu ---Menu -- Navigation
scroll down to Logging type change from Auto to time
Scroll down to time period and change from 5 sec to 1 second
What this does it creates a seamless line the is your trail so at higher speeds the line becomes more fluid and is easier to read.

Menu -- Frequency make sure it reads 200 kHz
Menu ----- scroll down to log sonar
A pop up box will come up
Name file as you wish e.g. name of lake you are on … subsequent recording will automatically add a number after it
second bar down will say internal highlight it press enter and change it to the black chip ( memory card on 5 and 7 ) ( Memory card 1 or 2 on a 8, 10, 12 )
scroll down to start logging
When you are logging in the top right or left corner a red dot will be flashing to identify you are recording
when you switch to the Chart screen you will see a little box dead bottom flash with an elapsed time, file name and Size … when the time reaches 1.5 or 2 hrs then repeat the process
of Pages, Sonar, Menu, Log Sonar, Stop recording …. and then repeat to restart …. this will keep the file size manageable for upload. If you don't want to stop and restart you don't have to
Please understand the file will be very large and difficult to upload..


HDS Touch 7, 9, 12

This little part you will only have to do one time

Pages- on the left trails ---Trails ---Settings -- Box Pops up time change from Auto to Time change time period from 5 sec to 1 second

create structure map when done highlight and press record.

Record Speeds...
16 mph max will get you contours of the bottom
8 mph max will give you Composition and Contours
6 mph max will give you vegetation, Composition, and Contours

As well please note I will be in the water at the pre determined location posted on the flyers 42.597079, -80.439534 ( 42 35'49.5"N 80 26'22.3"W ) Monty will be on Shore for the start and then will come out into the water .... So if you want your unit set up and or updated please start from the Marina if you are ready to go come see me and you can start... If you are heading from the North side and or Turkey point set your unit to record your trip but don't exceed 25 km/h 17mph this way it will record at lest the contours....
