Old skull found on the weekend near Timins.
2 inch canines.
Any ideas? With the snort nose I am leaning to a large cat. No lower jaw found.

I think may be pig dragged out from a dead stock pile.May be a real wild pig.not much to see but the 2 inch canines.

worked in a pig barn 10 years. Certainly pig but would be a rough looking domestic pig

Would have never thought pig. It is 20 miles from any civilization and our camp has been on the site since 1960. Timmins area. Wild boar back then?

Some Wolf outfitters get and use dead pigs
For baiting wolf's in the winter , they come to southern Ontario, and load there trailer full of frozen pig carcasses

I'm not sure on the species, but the as mentioned that bone is not a tooth, it is called the paracondylar process.

If I was to make a guess, I'd say moose.

Pictures 2,4 and 5 show a very short snott. No more than 2 inches past canines. Canines are in the upper skull. No lower jaw was found. Snott rounded over

Thats not the front of the skull. That is the back of the skull where the spine attaches to it. The snout/nose portion of the skull is missing
