heading down to sarnia on wednesday to fish the river. heard there maybe a walleye or 2 around. I have never fished it just wondering what works. We will be fishing on the water,so trolling or jigging? What size jig head 1/2 oz,3/4? tipped or not tipped? any tips would be great. thanks

I’ve never hit st clair river, only Detroit. Likely same strategy, find the fish with electronics/water features, heavy jig heads, stay vertical with your lines, repeat. ? I like 1/2oz fins heads and minnows. 6lbs hi vis braid and matching diameter floro carbon leader. Good luck.

When I went up from Mooretown last Monday there were six boats jigging for walleye in front of the casino. Also some guys drifting on the American side at Mooretown.

Gotta think they must be catching something....

1oz jig if you r fishing north of the bridge, its 65ft deep.Go to Detroit ,3 man limits in a hr and a half.
