Fishing Report Port Stanley - August 14

Went out solo yesterday morning 10am out of Port Stanley.

Decided to try just regular 6ft rods with bead chain inline weights in front of worm harnesses trolling about 0.9 mph in 57'. Was rewarded right away with two fish, which were fun to play. The first was a three pounder, the second was much smaller.

Nothing for the next 20 minutes, so I switched to lead core, 5 and 7 colours. Started picking up fish regularly, and found that they were better 7-8 colours out. Several small guys were put back, and I tried a fairly large Matrix spoon I bought for salmon/rainbows and was rewarded with a couple bigger fish.

Tried trolling at 3.5 with the main motor + electric for steering (normally I only use the electric) with dipseys, hoping for a rainbow but no luck. Came home with a limit of walleye, plus a decent silver bass which was the only "junk" fish.
