Took a buddy out of Port Burwell today headed straight south to 60 feet of water and set up.Dipsy's out 140 and 160 with Knock Out lures punch size Fire toad copper back one side and Killer Ants copper on the other side.Riggers down 40 and 45 feet with 150 leads and Knock out lures Punch Size Pink Orchid silver back and Crater face Copper back off the other rigger. We picked up two small rainbows right away off the riggers and kept heading south to 62 feet of water. All I can say is wow,it was on fire for rainbows today. We had rods firing all over the boat today.Double headers with out of control rainbows jumping at the back of the boat and crossing lines. At one point we had no rods in the water as we had fish on every lure and fish scattered on the bottom of the boat.Granted a couple of those fish on the boat floor were the good old farm animals and two rainbow...lol We fished that area for a good 3 hours and figure we took over 35 shots off the riggers and dipsy's.We released five rainbows at boatside,( bad net man,me )and 4 walleye right at the side of the boat. The action slowed the wind changed so we headed back into 59 feet of water. We had heard on the radio guys picking up walleye off of lead core so we pulled a dipsy and sent out the 10 color with a greasy chicken copper back.Wasn't long and we were into fish again off the ten color lead core, walleye this time.We boated 4 walleye off the lead core, one rainbow off the lead core and lost a couple more rainbow off the dipsy's in this area.Needless to say it was an excellent day on the water with non stop action except for about an hour when the action slowed.Only boated seven sheepies today and that was kind of nice for a change.Total boxed fish was 8 rainbow and 4 walleye.Excellent day out there!
