Made a solo effort that had my line in the water at 6:30, even managed a seat near the "front" of the bus on the channel side
Not a lot of people first thing but this changed as the morning went on, even the beach was lined up.
Way the day started thought I was going to do "great", had a few in the bucket by 7 and then-----------poof---------they were gone. Picked away at some stragglers, then another flurry of activity around 10-----then poof -----they were gone. Stuck it out til 11:30 when things really slowed down.
Came away with sixteen decent sized perch, not too many dinks today.
Cant speak for the folks fishing behind me or the ones on the beach, any time I looked didnt see much happening. There was a small pack out directly in front of the pier.
"Hot" location was 1/2 way across channel and with that breeze you had to be creative at times to see the hit.
So while it wasnt a "great" outing as far as numbers, it prob ranged somewhere between "good" and "not bad".
