A few weeks ago I was fishing the lower end of an Erie trib and just happened to come across a disturbing find. Someone had dropped off five kittens (three very young and two a little older)and left them by the side of the creek. I fed them everything I had in my cooler that a cat could eat. I had to leave them behind as I had no way to transport them. So on the way home I called my wife and after some discussion agreed we would grab a cat carrier and return to get them. They would freeze to death or end up being eaten by something. We have been trying to find homes for all of them, but still have three to go. We have arranged to take them to Animal Aide here in St Thomas but know that they more than likely will end up spending most of their lives in a cage. I am posting this in hopes that someone out there could take one of these kittens.

Your kindness will no doubt be rewarded threefold Ken.

As for the "person" that dropped them off to fend for themselves:(:(:(

Hi Ken,

Just wondering if you still have those kittens. My daughters boyfriend is about to put down his cat as he's getting pretty old and frail. Read your post and thought maybe he'd like one of those.

E mailed the photo to my daughter and she will forward to Jeremy.

I would like to thank Denali custom rods, The Rod Glove and Live Eye Jigs for their support

STR8:

Three of the cats had to go to animal aide, and two of them have found homes (actually we kept one, and my daughter took one).

Chromeseeker, thanks for trying to take one of the cats, and sorry for the late response. If anyone needs a pet, just go to your local animal shelter or recue centre. It is amazing how many animals are abandoned.

Take care all and happy new year!
