Need help with chamberlains

I’ve read the previous posts about the adjustments needed in these things and I think I’m getting better BUT I still manage to either have the rod strike at times even with the vertical adjustment tight all the way and I’ve still dragged a fish or two? Can someone explain the idea of the line twists and how they manage it? I find the twist in the line works there way up to the release... is this normal? Any help would be awesome

I don't know if clockwise or counterclockwise makes any difference in the twist.

I usually do 10, clockwise twists and don't seem to have any issues with them moving.

4 turns out on the brass, and just enough clamp tension to stop false releases.

Most times a hit on the slider releases the clip.

Rod side tension can be made tight.

On the lure side, start at the lightest setting until your lure doesn't set it off. This is how you achieve a super light release tension.

Twist the line 10 times or so to avoid the line sliding through the release.
