Went to have a look in the bay this afternoon. dropped lines at 45 fow and headed SE. Turned left south of the Elbow and took the first hit at 75 fow. Nobody home. Kept up a Eastward troll and took a eye and a bow, turned around at 95 fow and doubled up on bows....lost the one on the 5 core. Turned back on our track and took an eye on the DD out 210 #3 setting. One more bow and a silver then turned toward home and cleaned fish on the troll. 2 people,, 4 rods, 31/2 hours fishing. Ended up 3/4 on bows , 2 eyes and a silver ass. All fish in top 40 over 75-95 fow. If we would have run right to where we started last year we could have filled the cooler pretty good for this time of year out here. Thought they may be shallower....marked lots of bait everywhere. Have fun out there.

Thanks for the report Norv! Plan to give the Bass a try on Saturday but if we have decent weather next week I'll also have try some off-shore stuff.

How far out from shore were you? Not very familiar with that area, would you take a 9.9hp aluminum boat?

Maybe, if it were attached to my 45' yacht and serving as a lifeboat . Seriously, get more familiar with the area and then decide for yourself. But, in my opinion, you're miles offshore at the elbow and many bad things could happen quickly there, especially in a smaller boat powered only with a 9.9. (Now, if you're posting this question just to get our resident safety monitor all riled up, then you're forgiven).
