Just getting started lake O off Grimsby 80' water water temp up today at 53.3.

I was there yesterday. Gnats were awful. Bring head coverings. We got all our fish in 60-90 fow on green spoons down 40-60 ft. Try purple and black spoons as well. Reports I read said kings were high. 20-40ft. Good luck.

On the water at 5 am 9ff the water by 9 am
Around 20 fish mix bag of chinook, coho , rainbow, laker , and 1 beautiful Atlantic released
Bugs I never seen so bad and the fog came in as well
Best bite 105-125 fow 40 to 45 feet down
Water temp actually warmer 53 out past 90 fow from 60 to 90 fow 50.5
1 chinook on dipsy and fly combo
Rest of fish on various spoons dominant color white with yellow combined
90 % of fish came on sliders
Lots of missed fish as well

Bugs were awful today! First time this year that I had to come in early. Lake erie soon cant take much more of the midges.

I am pretty sure I passed by a few boats out there in the fog between billions and billions of midges... Thermacell did help somewhat...

Off Jordan's, trolled about 90-120 fow, twice double header, all bites in approximately 50-70 feet. It was the day of yellow color.

Boated 5 kings who were crazy! One of them opened almost all reel twice. Did not weight it but at least 25 lbs.... Also got 1 coho, 1 steelhead, 1 shaker.

Lost 2 fish, both left a piece of lip at Luhr Jensen Coyote Glow Frog Racer (at the picture on the rod), which also boated 2 kings.

Also Luhr Jensen Coyote Fluorescent Chartreuse/Green UV and flash flies with green/yellow patterns brought kings.

And now it looks like I need to learn and master the art of sliders...

I had a proper social distance visit with my brother yesterday. He lives a short distance from Port Dalhousie and said that the midges are a pain in the butt all around the area including residences. ??
