Late season Duck

Hunted a corn field yesterday afternoon, and low and behold we got a hen wood duck along with a few mallards. I have never seen any this late being this cold.Anyone else?

Shot a banded drake about this time of year a few years back. Banded in the Carolina's; guess he didn't feel like migrating that year...

...are sure that bird was shot or died of fright ????
