Drove up to lake simcoe VB early sunday morning. Left Caledonia at 430am...ouch...weather was great until 404....then what a mess. Crazy wind and some snow. Out on the ice was still dark when we started but fish under hut when we checked...so happy about that. Wind and snow really started to kick up then. Actually, was worried about our hut (rented from ice fishing outfitters/quality organization) blowing away w us in it. Fishing was great. We were in ten fow...w fish underneath us all day...trying to sight fish between the keepers and the throwbacks. We kept about sixty between three of us and must have thrown back 200 between 7-9". We used everything in our boxes and most of it worked...minnows, swedish pimps, pink plastic, jigs...slab grabbers etc... At one or two the ferry got stuck and kicked up a lot of silt and debris and the sight fishing ended so we called it at two and where home just after four. Had a great day on the ice.
