No there are several types ...portable ...permanent etc .... the new wireless is probably $900
Hook prob onto rigger cable ...before the ball
You mount a transducer on back of boat and have a screen mounted to your dash ....
Prob ....sends singnal to your transducer ...then dash ..... gives you service speed temp
And speed temp at the ball
Surprising how much difference there is between the 2 .
I don't own one ...but fished with people who do
