Fishing Report June 16..The rich waters.

Scuttled out from Hoover's for an evening scout to sample some gear around the rich waters off nanticoke..
7/7 walleyes20230616_215533.jpg and 20230617_000447.jpg2/2 on a piar Of choice size rainbows.
Running baits high & low in the water on Core, dipsy or rigger all produced at some point. Cranks & spoons,no real color preference. a fair piece of water covered working the baits over 50-100fow.
Some grass/weeds floating around here and there..be a good idea to check the baits every so often.
 
Nice report, thanks. We were out for the afternoon as well and ran a similar spread with riggers and cores but only went out to 80 fow. The rainbows were on fire but we only found one walleye. Marking tons of bait and fish so we felt we should be having better results...not sure what we were missing, maybe too fast. Oh well, time to fire up the smoker again.

You didnt miss much not going past 80fow..wasn't worth the time for us any way.
We marked every where we went as well but couldn't get on the feeding fish..until we did.
The eyes seemed to gobbed up and we probably should have turned back a few times when we took fish and work that spot over but the plan was to just cover water see where the action was. 10fathom.
 
Looks like this could be a good summer for walkeye out of Nanticoke. Maybe it will get as good as several years ago?
