Is there safe Ice at St.Williams

Is there safe Ice at St.Williams. Myself and 6 other guys are heading there in the morning Fri. walking out.

I would think it is not safe yet. the open water spots can only have about an inch of new ice and with the snow on top you won't know where that thin ice is.
