Wild Lake Trout Fry Found in Lake Erie for First Time in Over 60 Years

This is the first time the presence of wild lake trout fry has been recorded in Lake Erie since before they were extirpated in 1965.

Only lake trout I have ever caught were from Lake of Bays and Oxtongue Lake.

I know Oxtongue lake area very well hvyhaul as my wife was born in Golden Lake on the other side of the park. I have caught many greasers in Huron and Ontario with a few in Erie as well.

Lightly lightly lightly lightly battered… dredge in 2 salmon eggs and 300 nanoseconds at 350F.

Salt to taste.
