Lines down at 0540 this morning. Started around Ec6 with a jerk bait. Had two short strikes strikes so I switched to a mojo rig and craw to slow it down. Picked up two smallies, one was about 3lbs. Then two bite offs by the toothy buggers. Landed one pike on the rig. I hate crowds so I moved when all the people who slept in showed up.
Tried a drift over deep weed patches near EC10. Picked up a largemouth in 11' of water. Smaller fish were amputating my craw baits.
Last effort was to go punch some thick stuff. Hauled a few largies out, all around 2lb size. Called it a day at noon.
I'm sure anyone out there around noon saw the CF-18 fighter jet do a fly by over the water near Port Rowan. Not sure what he was doing over this way? Russian sub?
