The troll was slow yesterday, so we switched to perch about noon. Was a steady bite until it turned right off. A minute later Kenny latched onto something that at first felt like the anchor, then moved.
Was a 15 minute battle on the ultralight spinner. A couple oz under 18lb on the Berkley deliar.
Fortunately the perch came back again after she was gone

wow years ago we fished for them big old channel cats off the clay banks at burwell ,,green frogs was the bait of choice .we would surf cast for them with one oz slip weights ,what a fight when you got one on just crazy the power of the big cats ,,,nice catch I have not seen a big one like that in a few years ,,Dutch

Dutch, you must have missed my posts from the spring! I lost count how many 15lb plus cats I had this year, must have been in the 25-30 range.
Boated a couple over 20 as well. The post below was an exceptionally fun day...
