Garmin521s fish finder display

I have been playing with my ( new to me) Garmin fish finder the last two times out for perch. To see fish on the bottom. I tried spit screen 50 and 200 hz but see very little difference and no fish, when I am sitting in non stop action @ 42FOW. it continually marks individual suspended fish but none on the bottom and no bate balls like I used to see with my old unit 15 years ago. I must be missing something I read threw the owners manual it was as clear as mud. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your input.

Sensitivity set to low? Wasn't on demo mode was it lmao

Try this set your ping speed to fasted and turn on your amplitude scope , set your frequency to 200 hundred , set your range to the depth of water you are in so you use the whole screen. Trust this helps you.
