Hi all.
Number one and I got started late today.
We stopped for two scoops of Jimmy's finest at about 16:00 and fishing, at guess where? 3/4 mile West of EC-10 at 16:15.
Reports on the Bay had everyone doing well beyond EC-10 but I just couldn't help myself. Number one as usual wasn't completey on side. So I mentioned the "cuddy" thing. She mentions the "motel"thing. So we compromised. We sat in my usual spot cacthing nothing for 15 minutes and then I started catching two at a time as fast I can re-bait. Number one isn't so happy because she isn't getting a bite. She now mentions the compromise to which I replied we will leave if we aren't catching fish. These were 3 inchers.
The water is murky and the wee guys are biting. The Bobber is working well but the bite is really lite and hard to see. I notice that number one's Bobber is working just fine and she isn't paying attention. I shouldn't have noticed this and more importantly I should not have "thought" out loud.
I kept telling number one that the big ones were coming. She kept saying she just wanted anything. She got her wish. She pulled in a nice 7 lb pike on lite gear and 6 lb line. Number one and I just aren't Pike people and I mean no disrespect for those that are. We just don't.
The bigger Perch start biting and, well, my line, not hers.
Just the facts now.
Lots of little ones and we only kept ten. The biggest was twelve but everything else nineish. Everything else was 3 -4 inchers. We used all the bait with the exception of 15 really big shiners which I have frozen for another purpose. The bite was really lite but always on. The water was murky until about 18:45 and then it got clear. That is when the bite stopped. The spot as always for me is 3/4 mile West of EC-10.
What a Fun Day on the Bay, Clark
PS Number one's story may be different then mine other then the facts.
