This time of year it's search for silver to smoke. After last week's blow I figured deep was the place to be. I actually planned to set up in 300 fow, but on the way out saw an awesome current break that ran for miles in 270 fow, so I set up there. Lots of bait in the flat zone but the marks were concentrated too deep at 150 or deeper. Worked it s turning from side to side, but nothing happened. Passed the occasional lone wolf right at the balls but they wouldn't take. So we resumed out treck to 300 trolling. And switched up the colours. Cheap sunglasses on a 3 colour down 70 soon brought in the first small king of the day. Kept marking deep bait and occasional hooks 150 to 100 so dropped one down to 98. It passed a few with no takers, so slipped on a moonshine glow ladderback. While I'm switching up the 3 colour took another hit, but it was gone by the time I got there. Got the 'shine down to the zone and a few minutes later another small king hits. I reach 300 and the bait wasn't showing. Searched for a bit, turned around but the the breeze was gone, the sun was hot and the fish were shy.
