Weather called for 5-10cm of snow yesterday. Well we got a foot. Time to bring out the sleds...
Let's hope we out on the ice soon.....
Ice hut is ready to go!
Welcome to the North, kapuskasing!
I been thru that area many of times in the past big game hunting spring black bear..oh yes the replica of the flying saucer..what's the history of naming that tiny tiny community Moobeam..
Just imagine how far is the closest liquor store.. outlet..I think I would be stocking up bottles for sure
Our French Can neighbor to our last LilyLake camp.. she told me of 3 days in a row -57 celsuis in-between hearst and longlac closer to longlac..we got 1 lake with bigger then big pike and a stocked splake ice fishing pamela lake..I don't fish either.
I spent alot of time spring bear and fall moose hunting both north and south of the HWY..Made friends with 3 locals hunters camp owners and the butcher in hearst..
Are camp just a mile up from the longlac garbage dump..you probably remember the local that shot the trophy 700 lb bear at the dump..and posted online photos..big mistake he was fined and lost his hunting privileges.. not only illegal to hunt anywhere near that garbage dump with a locked gate with the keys belonged to longlac residents for taking there garbage..
How unsportsmanlike to commit an act like that and then post internet photos for recognition..I did locate a missed photo of him with the bear .. trophy status only. Totally sickening ..the bear would not be suitable for tablefare..
Hey @Fisherboy thanks for the reminder of the flying saucer .
It looks like nice with the summer time and warm..
Good luck when you get out ice fishing..friend

When I moved to Yellowknife, I always told people I was from the "Toronto area" as it was easier than trying to explain where St. Thomas or Brantford, or even London was, but most people know where Toronto is.
