Managed to get out from 12:30-4pm yesterday from St. Williams, The guys at the minnow shack said it had been slow but we were optimistic.
Ended up keeping 18 (8"-12") and released 1 pike. Was steady with dinks and the odd keeper till 3pm for us. Jigged a big williams wobbler spoon to attract them and then they would hit minnows with the tear drop jig heads in the other holes.

Hope the ice sticks around but the long range doesn't look to promising! Lots of water and slush on the ice yesterday and heard there was some open spots a couple miles out.

Nice! 9 times out of 10 using a 3-4" flashy spoon draws in perch to checkout your baits and is often the difference that puts fish on the ice when others arent catching.

Besides today, tomorrow and thursday, the next 2 weeks looks great with temps staying below 0 consistently with nightly lows being double digits until March. Everything should be tightened up next week making for easy walking.

Flashing spoons did not work at all yesterday. Didnt draw a single fish in. William's , cleo, kastmaster, didnt matter wasnt working . In the past I have a small blue and silver spoon tipped that always works when all else failed. Not yesterday!!
