My first trip off Puerto Lopez early am Nov. 12 At the 70 km mark.. 25 minutes in Charlie plowed right thru a pod of dolphins the same direction heading due west..starboard side outrigger got hit like a freight train and went off like a catapult, we were hooked up and I scrambled getting the rod out of the rod holder peeling and screamin line What a spectacular fight, start to finish, in the third hour this fish finally gave us the fight of her life just behind the suzukis.. just an amazing fish

we iced the tuna and carried on, spotting are first marlin a single at 4;40 pm 80 feet port side.. and the fish quickly sounded
This yellowfin tuna is delicious, and not as dense as marlin, what great experience.2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 1339.jpg2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 2058.jpg2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 1355.jpg2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 1377.jpg2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 1357.jpg2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 1493.jpg2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 1497.jpg

after a successful offshore charter 2 marlin catch on Nov. 14, I booked Nov. 15 early 3am start. we made the 120 km trip to reach the humbolt current, our first marlin bite portside outrigger gets hammered hard missing the hook up, yep a charlie bait, moving and covering alot of water I pickup a good size Mahi Mahi,.at 3pm My starboard outrigger bait gets hammered hard and again marlin misses the hook up, one last bite settles the score for a second mahi mahi, and that was it..2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 1588.jpg2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 2033.jpg2023 November 12,15,18 Pacific Sportfishing 1578.jpg

Is far as working on my playlist, not now, i got plenty of fish for now, I took advantage and signed up a promotion and got windy.com premium, for the americas, its been very helpful for forecasting marine weather data, where and when, and what,

I got 2 estimates on the weight of my trophy yellowfin tuna at 300lbs..fredi in Cabo says he hasn`t seen a yellowfin tuna that size in years, I got a few others in Cabo looking and judging the tuna this week,

Chatting with Fredi on whatsapp, i just got some devestating news with Captain Pepe had a heatstroke this past summer and is now physically paralyzed,
Fredi has explained this summer in Cabo was extremely bad for high heat levels, Pepe is a tall very thin man, he was working long charter days every day and a next day he got dehydrated and got a stroke. Fredi hasn`t seen Pepe in months...
I had the pleasure fishing with Captain Pepe Christmas morning and his brother and Charlie the number 1 deck hand, we landed a beauty dorado and 3 marlin before 11 am and called it a great day. What a great 4 man crew on christmas morning. There is Captain Pepe up on the top deck trolling steering and then the 4 of us drifting with live bait and hooking up with our last marlin of the day. Pepes brother with the red hat and top deckhand Charlie below ( a redrum star for over 10+ years)

Not much to update other then the weather here in puerto lopez is excellent, In my pros & cons for the spots I like fishing the Pacific Coast, it wins in all categories, the cloud cover keeping it low in the 80s day time highs and hits a low briefly early morning at around 70..
I am so close to the pacific I can hear both the high and the very low tide, and looking out to the ocean from my third floor patio I watch the sea birds like the frigits and pelicans, and the land birds are just part of the ecosystem experiences. I also seen the biggest humpback whale of my life..

what is engraved in my mind is I never would of thought 25 minutes in and I am hooked up with a monster yellowfin tuna that got deep quick after a mile screamer run on moderate seas made it a great challenge, ya I was dealing with trying to do everthing right to get this fish to boat side..

And ya I sure got my moneys worth working that November new moon 3x fishing..the tuna then next trip the marlin (2 big bites) & 2 dorados way way off and then hammer the wahoo..hooking up with well over 20...I lost count...and to fish with a handful of puerto lopez boats were some amazing proud moments..these guys are excellent to fish with friendly experienced there is no pack a couple are speargunning with snorkel and mask and scoring wahoo..thats pure sport and they score big..I loved to witness that..yep thats south america for ya..and Latina Feels good..

ya I went grocery shopping today to the TIA in town, a taxi tuk tuk back cost 50 cents.

I am cooking and eating dorado tonight, I got way to much fish to eat..to just go fishing again..but I think I am heading down to the shop for a chat on a suprise plan for possibly an ûpcoming fishing trip.. I want to work out. Its an overnight trip we did once before 2 years ago to a large yellow marker way out in the middle of the, yes it would be leaving at midnight and on GPS..with the 4 of us I feel some what safe but not totally, the last time we observed a couple of vessels that should not of been where they were. Alex and I suspected one was a large china fishing boat lit right up..
We did get to the yellow marker at first light, we hammered the bonitos, ya a bit of a disappointment is a understatement...we worked are way around and scored a big dorado bull..later fishing are way back we score a big double on dorados...that was a super wow and then finally half way back we score a marlin..what a great trip..thats what i live for fishing the pelagic fish for sport out off the pacific..

and yes the grouper & plumero fishing with the Bomber Certified Depth 30s high speed crankbaits is coming up in January I bought and brought my goto specific colours for that action..were fishing a specific offshore waters but its to the north..

I think its almost time for a happy hour...I found to my liking a rum liquor called ROM PON PON original I drink it neat at $4.59 U.S for A 750ML I bought 2 bottles today..

ya its that kinda day shorts & t shirt day..I think the best move was i officially shut my email account down after I took care of 650 emails deleted..

I really hope I can improve on my quality of life in the coming year, its something I really need to work on, and that includes my activities.. change is coming..I know it..

Hi Tyler thanks for your interested you can go back and look at should be able to find my Puerto Lopez reports on stomps with photos dating back to 2018 or so...

what really stands out is I was personally invited to assist with scuba and speargun fish with the owner of the Ancora hotel here in puerto Lopez on his boat while me and my girl stayed there..

I posted a photo he shared with me with an absolute giant trophy rooster fish he is hoisted up is as he is high..with his wet suit on..and all his equipment and air tank flippers etc etc in a framed photo he was proud of and brought out and showed me

His equipment alone worth hundreds & hundreds of dollars, not counting his boat

He made special trips to Miami Florida to buy his specialized equipment. He explained the hunting in the reefs & structure inshore for large fishes including shark was just facinating..but the roosterfish was his top kill..

The invitation to come out on his boat and join him was such an honour. but there was not enough time with his busy schedule

And At that time I started my offshore fishing with Charlie and the boys on the Rosita and I went on to be successful catching the marlin

It was so rewarding to see the tradition of speargunning the wahoo from the surface on saturday Nov.18 ..I was so lucky to see the gaff hoist in a nice size wahoo with a direct hit..the 2 boats I seen they were banging um off pretty good with the speargun..3 guys per boat

puerto lopez fishermen are something else..just incredible sport..pacific surface water temp was 23 to 24 celsius..perfect conditions..

I know one thing I will be hooking up with fishing oppurtunities sooner or later with some of the other local fishermen..

Heres a one page educational blog I encourage fishermen to read..

Last seasons Mexico cabo & PV trip I took my largest marlin Dec. 23 2022 out of my 11 marlin total on a tied mackerel flatline method..just an enjoyable way to fish & hook up and the fight such an intelligent fish.. at 1 hour and landed..

Incredible Big Kick ass Pacific fishing trip Tuesday Dec. 05 out on the high seas, Rough water & big Mahi Mahis, and some good marlin bites and marlin right in are spread action.....me I was full day focus we got 10 total bites, I was perfect score 5 for 5 hard fighting dorados..poor Alex hooks a marlin then gone within minutes later hooks a big dorado and throws the hook on the hook set...omg..ya thats on video..
2 windows of the roughest of waters..Capt. Charlies seamanship was outstanding, but the pacific wore us thin early window we took an instant direct hit one giant 40 GALLON WAVE port side bottom deck wash..we had to scramble getting the windows back up in place
I know exactly this is my 2nd most roughest pacific fishing ever off Puerto Lopez. and landing that biggest 2nd dorado just killed my back..my onset with lumbar muscle tightness to a grip and lasted around 2 hours, I still went on and landed 5 for 5 big beautiful Mahis...lure selection was crucial..my lures landed 4 and one big marlin bite miss port side, Charlie & Alexes starboard side lures 5 total bites, I got there outrigger rod up and out quick and landed our first dorado...nice

I have had a busy week, Ecuador continues with the weekly daily no electricity, meaning No wifi, means no loading photos, Fabian took some nice video marlin & dorado action
I just tried to transfer some really good photos and theres 4 videos to my laptop..the file comes up empty with the new images, using my USB-C adapter, ya the cable I seen a bare wire, I insulated it with a bandaid tight with a twist tie wrap, the cable charges fine, ya thats not the problem. to many images I think is..

waiting back for a next move for I really hope a fishing trip for this coming week, Alex said they moved the yellow marker location, I am now reading this coming weeks forecasted marine weather data, cloud cover is my #1 ...moderate winds my #2 ...we just had rains and some winds wed, thursday and yesterday..to me these are the kind of days are marlin action days, my back needs rest after tuesdays pacifics pounding,
seen plenty of boats todays saturday afternoon outinfront..it was white cap windy fishing weather with sun..

coming up short on photos..see if i can load some tomorrow

I was into my account a week or so ago and deleted most of 640 emails..today no way I struggled and could not get in.

of importance to me my email address with the password and the login stays,

I will look at that tomorrow
