Downrigger / Leadcore Pole Set Ups

It's about time to re-spool the reels. Right now I have been running 30 pound power pro braid line on my rigger poles and as backing on my leadcore poles with a fluorocarbon leader. I was just wondering if it would be better to continue with the power pro line or have read a lot of people use the mono line. Just curious to see what most people are running out there in Erie.

I had anggling outfititters in woodstock spool mine and thwy used fluorocarbon backing and leader i believe

I like the braid as it doesn't degrade or turn into a slinky. Just don't forget to put reel tape or something similar under it to stop it slipping on the spool.

Good idea when using braid at the terminal end to use the braid knot then put a drop of Super Glue on that knot

Not too sure if Erie has flea problems like Lake Ontario or not but on rigger rods I run 30lb big game and 19 strand wire for my dipsys.
